Thailand Race Tracks Info and Directory

Ok, ok. I know what you’re thinking. “This blog is supposed to be about Motorcycle Touring and where to go”.  Well, maybe I need to clarify.  This blog is supposed to be about safe motorcycle touring and where to ride.  The only way to be safe is to practice safety but it’s also very important to be able to do this in a safe environment. On the track not only can push your bike closer to its limits without the worry of a semi-truck side swiping you.  You can also get a better feel for the maximum lean angles and how your bike responds to more aggressive riding.  I know everyone out there, myself included, have had their moments.  Maybe you came into the turn too hot and ran straight through or maybe you trusted your tires and leaned into it and managed to pull it off.  I have been in both of these categories.  I owe the fact that I was able to join the latter category, a few times when I should have been in the former, to being able to practice on the track.  So this is why I bring all of you the Thailand Track Directory.  Hope you enjoy and find it useful.

Khao Yai National Park

Located in Central Thailand at the southern end of the Korat Plateau, Khao Yai is just one of the many great travel destinations for motorcycle tourists in Thailand.  Only 160km from Bangkok, the National Park is easily accessible for those wishing to do a day trip or spend the weekend riding and exploring waterfalls, hiking trails and watching wildlife.  Popular with Thais and foreigners alike it is not uncommon to see groups of people riding through the park eating up the winding roads from the north gate entrance in Nakhon Ratchasima to the south gate in Prachinburi.

2012 Kawasaki Versys 650

The Kawasaki Versys 650 is an interesting bike.  Is it a dual-sport?  Is it a touring bike? It really can't be defined in a single class.  See what the guys over at Top Speed had to say about this special bike.

Maintain Your Chain

Extremely important but often overlooked, the drive chain is quite possibly the most important part of your motorcycle.  Without it you couldn’t carve through the canyons or do week long tours across the country.  Failure of even on link could leave you stranded somewhere, or worse. Chances are it will tear up your bike and give you a swift introduction to the pavement.  Bruising you, your ego and the object of your affection all in one go.  In this article you will learn how easy it is to keep your chain in good working condition and avoid any possible mishaps caused by neglect of simple maintenance.

Motorcycle Touring and How I Got Started

If there was ever a time to discuss why I started touring, it would probably be now.  Since I am bored and have some time to kill I thought I would go through what makes touring great to me and maybe get some feedback from you readers out there.
